We donated a cheque for £1,060 to local charity KatCanDo on Thursday 17th October. The money was raised during our recent charity trade day event, which saw three members of staff being waxed in aid of the charity, as well as our Managing Director having his head shaved.
The donated money is part of The Art of Living Group's aim to raise £5,000 for KatCanDo.
The charity was set up by the late Kate Coles in 2004, who sadly passed away in 2006 from colon cancer, and aims to improve the treatment and care of cancer patients in the Surrey and Hampshire area.
KatCanDo continues thanks to 14 close friends and family of Kate, ensuring that organisations such as Frimley Park Hospital, St Luke's Cancer Centre and the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice can receive equipment and services not always provided by the NHS.
Clive Blythe, Managing Director of Ceramic Tile Warehouse, said, "Our recent charity trade day was a great success and I would like to thank everyone who came down and supported the cause. KatCanDo is such a fabulous local charity which does great work and we are delighted to be able to hand over another cheque for in excess of £1,000."
Kendra Cardy from KatCanDo was delighted to receive the donation, "The continued support of the Art of Living Group is overwhelming and we would like to say a massive thank you to all their staff, customers and the local community who have attended their charity events. The money raised from the charity trade day will go towards our fundraising for a Transanal Endoscopic Operation kit, which is used to detect the early signs of some bowel cancers and is needed by Frimley Park Hospital. The piece of equipment costs £14,000, so this money gives us a good start.
